When “Poor Upkeep” Becomes Their Lame Excuse for negligent repairs and failing to uphold the duty of care.

Me VS Insurer / Repairer

Tactic time - Yes, they’ve tried to pin this mess on me, claiming:

  • I’m trying to “scam” a full restoration on my 1940 custom truck after an engine fire!—When I offered and did, handle the cosmetic paintwork myself at no cost to them at all...

  • I lied about my policy or how I used my vehicle—despite my broker confirming the coverage matched my intended use, far beyond just “club registration.” I was honest from the outset.

  • I neglected my truck’s maintenance—check the video below and decide for yourself if my pride and joy looks “neglected.”

  • Apparently, I’m “unfairly criticizing” their lawyers by pointing out their blatant mistakes — backed by facts. So let’s be honest: how do you sleep at night knowing you profit off injustice?

  • I’m being silenced through a complaints process that hid critical details from me, the client.

  • They’ll only offer settlements minimal of course, if I agree to gag orders, keeping their failures under wraps.

Let’s call it what it is: a masterclass in corporate evasion.

This isn’t about truth. It’s about delay, intimidation, and shielding their own backsides while betraying customers who paid premiums in good faith.

The Corporate Gauntlet - Here’s what you’re up against when you challenge an insurer:

  • Insurers: Brokers, underwriters, and “customer service” teams trained to stall, deflect, and stonewall—yet they’ll happily “guarantee” their repairs until you’re stuck with the fallout.

  • Complaints Body: A so-called “independent” authority, funded by the very industry it’s meant to regulate. Slow, ineffective, and often a bias outcome or  dead end.

  • Repairers: Sloppy work that leaves your vehicle in worse shape than before, no quality control sign off of repairs.

  • Underwriters: Hiding behind fine print to justify denials.

  • Lawyers: Their final weapon, twisting your words and dragging things out until you’re exhausted.

Every layer is designed to break you.

And the worst part? This was my first-ever claim in Australia, and the repairs were an absolute disgrace.

Why I’m Roaring Back,

This isn’t just my fight—it’s a symptom of a broken system.

A system where insurers:

  • Pocket your premiums without hesitation.

  • Disappear when it’s time to deliver or loss adjust bellow the required repairs to save money.

  • Blame “poor upkeep” or any flimsy excuse to avoid accountability.

  • Intimidate and smear the CUSTOMER until you give up.

Ahhh… Insurance. Comforting ads, cruel reality.

It’s time the world hears my truth—time for the little gals to stop being crushed. I’m laying it all bare, sharing my raw, unfiltered story so others know they’re not alone and to expose a system that’s letting down, the very people it’s meant to protect.

It’s time for change: an insurance system that stands with us, not against us.
